Hugo Noël immerses us in his philosophical reflections, intuitions, or revelations that, through the force of his arguments, solidify in our minds as certainties. His pages will surprise you with their unusual introspection, transcendental revelations, and unexpected solutions to age-old questions that have captivated and perplexed the greatest minds throughout history. The answers addressed here, from the demonstration of the infinite to the unmasking of historical materialism as a pseudo-religion, are the result of the author's metaphysical musings over forty years. As we journey through the manifestations of the human in their daily pursuits, we navigate the corridors—until now closed or censored by neopositivism—of existence, destiny, and the enigmatic cosmos. Unlike the philosophers of old who shipwrecked on these timeless mysteries, our voyage leads to new certainties and dissolves millennia-old uncertainties. It is not surprising that Hugo's approach to ontology in this tour de force is interdisciplinary, for metaphysics, in his own words, is:"Social consciousness... as it arises in the face of the limitations of exact sciences. While materialism relegates existential concerns to hypotheses akin to those of evolution and the Big Bang, metaphysics constructs its discourse from the conglomerate of natural and social sciences, art, and folklore. Metaphysics is a discipline that transcends the boundaries of specialization; it derives its discourse from a universal perspective. 'Science of principles,' as Aristotle once termed it."The very title of this book, in the present participle, reimagines our conception of Being and God: God in a constant state of Being, in persistent activity or manifestation, a dynamic or evolving vision of our humanity or individual Being as divinity; God as continuous and active existence in the world. God inherent to man, for, being external, He manifests through him. These are conceptions that shake anyone who delves into metaphysics as a transcendental reflection on their permanence or sense of immortality in this very moment in universal consciousness."Am I or do I exist in the world?" or "Am I and do I exist in the world?" are the enigmas encompassed in this journey, as well as: "Am I the same Being? Is God a reality distinct from mine? What or who defines God?"Fantasy and dialectic, invention and erudition, logic and irrationality, art and philosophy come together to contribute to a science that transcends the boundaries of pure reason. Transcendental enigmas that make "Being God" not only a treatise on metaphysics but also on meta-philosophy."Metaphysics is often also inspired reflection, linking it to poetry. Both ponder and become emotional about the responsibilities of a universe that is constantly constructed and destroyed to be reborn."

Brief Essay on the Nature and Method of Metaphysics
Andres Ayala
The Incarnate Word, 2023
This paper is an attempt to clarify, from a Thomistic point of view, the nature and method of metaphysics. I argue that metaphysics' object is created being, not God, even if God enters metaphysics as efficient cause of metaphysic's object. Also, that metaphysics is a science, insofar as a particular kind of coherent reasoning process, going from the many to understand a certain oneness, and then from that oneness to reinterpret the many. Moreover, that, in this particular process of reasoning, doctrinal topics must follow a certain order. Thus, in particular, I argue that the distinction between essence and act of being in every creature cannot be argued before arguing the existence of God. I touch upon the notion of separation in metaphysics and I compare Aquinas' notion of resolution with Fabro's notion.

God and Metaphysics in Contemporary Theology: Reframing the Debate
Joseph Rivera
Theological Studies, 2016
Recent post-metaphysical trends in contemporary theology seek to overcome "metaphysics," in order to free God-language from the trappings of onto-theology. This means that theology prioritizes the conventional discourse of the church over the universal ambitions of metaphysical language. This article offers a corrective to the "post-metaphysical" corrective by proposing a broader definition of metaphysics, one rooted in concrete experience. In this regard I constructively consider Jean-Yves Lacoste's "conceptual rescue operation" metaphysics in his wide-ranging Etre en danger (201 I)

THE METAPHYSICS OF GOD-REALIZATION - 10th Lecture
Professor Ken S . Foldes
(Prerequisite: Phi 1000c). This metaphysics course will take up the three questions of the trilogy of our required philosophy courses: What is reality? Who am I? and, What shall I do (with my life)? We will use the insights of our major philosophers, scientists, and religious teachers both to answer these three questions and to lend support to the main thesis of the course, namely: We are living through an incredible " transitional " period of human history that is taking us into " a fully healed and functioning world beyond what we can possibly imagine. " We are in the midst of a Consciousness revolution and global paradigm shift that is changing science, religion, politics, health, relationships—everything. The course will consider the overwhelming evidence for this and its profound implications. Our main texts will be (1) Hegel's philosophical masterpiece, The Phenomenology of Spirit, which ends in " Absolute Knowledge " and has been called " the book that ended history " ; and (2) The Jedi Handbook of Global Education, which will apply " absolute knowledge " (of the Force or Point) to our present world situation and show how one can achieve self-realization, live their greatest life, and help heal our ailing planet.

Of Metaphysics and Theology
J Alexander Rutherford
JETS 66.4, 2023
Is classical theism a necessary condition for an orthodox doctrine of God? In this article, I present the negative answer. I argue (1) that Thomism is determinative of certain untenable or undesirable implications for the doctrine of God and (2) that an alternate metaphysic, in this case, Christian idealism, is able to avoid these implications. The possibility of this metaphysic and its cogency as addressed to certain cruxes in Thomistic doctrine suggests that a coherently biblical doctrine of God may be developed on a different foundation. I conclude from this that we should not equate any metaphysic with Christian orthodoxy and that Thomism should not be treated as an unassailable framework within which to perform Christian theology. Instead, we should foster a "global public square" approach to evangelical metaphysics.

Hermeneutics, Metaphysics, and the Question of Being
Luiz Rohden
Síntese: Revista de Filosofia, 2017
Notwithstanding the current common knowledge, which tells us that we live in post-metaphysical times, that metaphysics has come to an end and has been declared dead, the status of metaphysics should be reassessed in light of it on the basis of the hermeneutical tradition should be seriously considered. totality, has not died: that would mean the end of philosophy itself and, ultimately, the denial of the ability of human beings to understand themselves as Being, that is, as a whole. The hermeneutical tradition developed by Heidegger and Gadamer contributes strong arguments to corroborate this assertion. Finally,

Part One, Book One: God and his Being, or Metaphysics
Francesco Paolo Ciglia
"The Star" for Beginners: Introductions to the Magnum Opus of Franz Rosenzweig
The present contribution sets out to critically explore some very specific, yet notably relevant aspects of Rosenzweig's reflection about the theological question. To reach this end, this same contribution will provide a first and elementary introduction to the reading of a particular section of the thinker's philosophical masterpiece, The Star of Redemption 19 , in which are cast the basic foundations of the complex, and much more ample reflection on the subject, which will be later articulated throughout the entire course of the work. The section in question is represented by Book One of Part One of Star (henceforth, Star I.1) 20. Before beginning our exploration, it seems important to underline the absolutely undeniable fact that the thinker's philosophical masterpiece presents
